Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) seeks capable individuals for road maintenance across Ontario. You’ll operate snowplows and heavy equipment, perform labourer duties, and help maintain highways year-round, with shifts of 8–12 hours in all weather.

Local applicants are preferred; union position with CLAC. Candidates must have AZ or DZ licenses, a 3-year commercial driver's abstract, and prior snowplow or wheel loader experience is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• Must be physically able to perform demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs regularly.
• Valid AZ or DZ driver's license with air endorsement.
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver's abstract.
• Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required.
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.).
• Work outside in all weather conditions.

You will be responsible for winter and seasonal maintenance of Ontario highways, using various trucks and heavy equipment.

Premiums

• $3/hour AZ Premium when directed to operate equipment that require AZ
• $5/hour Snow Plow Premium
• $1/hr Night Shift Premium

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific)
• CLAC union position

Compensation

$25.50 - $33.50 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
