Job summary

Ledcor Highways Ltd. (LHL) offers winter and seasonal maintenance roles across Ontario for individuals with DZ or AZ licenses who value safety, community, and career growth. You will operate snowplows and other heavy equipment while maintaining Ontario highways year-round.

Shifts include 5 on/2 off or 6 on/1 off, with 8–12 hour days. Premiums for AZ operation, snow plowing, and night shifts apply, and camp accommodations with meal allowances are available at select locations.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting 50 lbs. on a regular basis, bending, kneeling, crouching, etc.
• Valid AZ or DZ driver's license with air endorsement
• Provide a copy of a 3-year commercial driver's abstract
• Previous experience operating a snow plow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplows, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment as required
• Maintain Ontario Provincial Highways year-round, including assisting with Labourer duties (pothole repair, guardrail repair, bridge and signage cleaning, hazard remediation, etc.)
• Work outside in all weather conditions

Premiums

• $3/hour AZ Premium when directed to operate equipment that require AZ
• $5/hour Snow plow Premium
• $1/hr Night Shift Premium

Work Conditions

• Local applicants will be given preference due to the location of the work
• Camp accommodations and meal allowance available in Wawa, Agawa, Batchawana, Chapleau, and Hinkler lake (No travel allowance)
• As we respond to various weather patterns, shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required
• Work schedules will consist of either 5 consecutive days followed by 2 days off or 6 consecutive days followed by 1 day off, with daily shifts lasting 8 to 12 hours (Shop specific)
• Winter seasonal from Oct 1 to April 30th
• CLAC union position

Compensation

$25.50 - $33.50 per hour

This is the applicable wage range for this position. Individuals will be assigned a base wage within this range based on trade certification and/or apprenticeship level, industry experience, and work location.

Remote, site-based positions may be eligible for additional incentives including but not limited to travel and accommodation allowances.
