IG Wealth Management is hiring interns for its AI Internship Program for the winter season in Toronto or Winnipeg. Interns will work with senior leaders to embed AI into business strategies, gaining hands-on experience managing projects and presenting results.

Open to undergraduates returning to school after the internship, this full-time 37.5-hour week program offers real-world exposure to AI initiatives within financial services and collaboration across multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school after the internship.
• Demonstrate interest and experience in AI tools and emerging technologies in business contexts (financial services preferred).
• Experience with Python; exposure to AI development or SDLC delivery is a plus.
• Comfortable working with data and technology to solve problems.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities for cross-functional work.

Responsibilities

• Work on real AI and automation projects that support business teams and leaders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to explore how AI can improve processes, decisions, and client experience.
• Break down business problems to turn ideas into AI use cases, workflows, and agentic solutions.
• Follow AI SDLC to deliver secure, efficient, and scalable solutions.
• Research new AI tools and share insights with the team.
• Support data preparation and analysis for AI initiatives.
• Assist with testing, documentation, and improvement of AI tools or processes.
• Create demos and track delivery of key work items for senior leaders.

Position

We are currently hiring interns to join our IG Wealth Management AI Internship Program this winter (January - April) in our Toronto or Winnipeg office locations. As part of this inaugural program, interns will work alongside Senior Leaders across IG to help embed AI-driven capabilities into real business strategies and initiatives.

In a supportive and collaborative environment, interns are empowered with ownership over their work, gaining hands‑on experience managing projects and presenting outcomes to senior stakeholders. This opportunity is open to undergraduate students who will be returning to school after the internship. This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

Intern placement will work within the Technology team, with regular touchpoints with one of the following departments to support their AI initiatives: Financial Planning, Sales & Distribution, Investment Solutions, Investment Strategy, Mortgage, Insurance & Banking, Strategy, Advisor & Client Experience, and Private Company Advisory.

Responsibilities

• Work on real AI and automation projects that support business teams and leaders
• Partner with cross-functional teams to explore how AI can improve processes, decisions, and client experience
• Break down business problems to turn ideas into AI use cases, improved business workflows, and agentic solutions
• Follow AI SDLC process to deliver agentic solutions that are secure, efficient and scalable
• Research new AI tools, trends, and use cases and share key insights with the team
• Support data preparation and analysis workflows to enable AI and analytics initiatives
• Assist with testing, documentation, and improvement of AI tools or process enhancements
• Create demos and track delivery of key work items to share progress and results with senior leaders
• Participate in team meetings, workshops, and learning sessions
• Contribute ideas that improve efficiency and support continuous improvement

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and returning to school following the internship (e.g., Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Data, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field)
• Demonstrate interest and experience in AI tools, emerging technologies, and their application in business, particularly within financial services
• Demonstrate experience with Python; exposure to AI development or SDLC delivery an asset
• Comfortable working with data, tools, or technology to solve problems
• Curious, proactive, and excited to learn new concepts and technologies
• Able to work independently while collaborating with teammates
• Clear communicator who can explain ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Organized, motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Salary and Benefits

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is (44,000 - 51,000), which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate's skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
