Job summary

Mackenzie Investments in Toronto is seeking a detail-oriented Windows Platform Intern for the winter term (January–April 2027). You will support enterprise applications on Windows servers and gain hands-on experience maintaining business-critical software.

The role is a full-time internship in a hybrid work environment, with 37.5 hours per week and an emphasis on reliability, performance, and operational readiness of applications used across the business.

  • Ability to self-motivate and prioritize time-sensitive deadlines
  • Technical Curiosity: A genuine interest in technology and a strong desire to learn about enterprise applications and the Windows server environment.
  • Foundational Knowledge: A basic grasp of IT concepts such as software updates, data backup, and system maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Application Support: Assist in managing our critical enterprise applications on Windows platforms, helping to ensure they remain stable, responsive, and up-to-date.
  • Upgrade Coordination: Support the team in planning and executing application upgrades, gaining hands-on experience in coordinating seamless transitions with minimal disruption.
  • Software Deployment: Participate in the deployment of application updates and patches, learning the end-to-end process for maintaining our software lifecycle.
  • Proactive Monitoring: Learn to conduct daily health checks on our application ecosystem, helping to monitor performance and ensure consistent availability.
  • Performance Tuning: Help identify and troubleshoot application performance issues alongside senior team members to improve availability and user experience.
  • Automation & Innovation: Explore opportunities to improve efficiency by identifying manual tasks that could be streamlined with AI-powered automation.
  • Security Collaboration: Gain exposure to enterprise security by assisting with tasks that ensure our applications align with internal security standards.
  • Technical Documentation: Contribute to our knowledge base by helping to document application configurations, changes, and support procedures.
  • Review business processes to identify opportunities for improvement, including leveraging AI

Position Details:

We are currently hiring an intern looking for a winter term position, January to April 2027 in our Toronto office.Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate program and plan to return to school after completing the internship to be eligible to apply.

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be eligible to work full-time for the entire duration of the program.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Windows Platform Intern located in our Toronto office to support and maintain enterprise applications running on Windows-based servers. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and operational readiness of business-critical applications, rather than administering the underlying server infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirements:

The expected annual base salary range (prorated for the term) for this role is $49,000 - $51,000, which is determined based on year of study, IGM program, geographic location and candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for paid time off.
