Job summary

Province of Nova Scotia is seeking Equipment Operators for the Winter Works Period in Middleton and Lequille. The role focuses on operating snow removal equipment such as snow plows, graders, and loaders, with responsibilities including daily logs and routine maintenance.

Applicants must hold a Class III license with air brake endorsement and be deemed an OPTP operator. Knowledge of hydraulics and salt spreading systems is an asset, along with reading/writing proficiency and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Minimum Class III license with air brake endorsement and OPTP operator competency.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems is an asset.
• Knowledge of salt spreading systems is an asset.
• Reading and writing comprehension is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Operate snow removal equipment (snow plows, graders, loaders).
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and daily logs.
• Assist with construction/maintenance work (signs, road repairs, general maintenance).
• Maintain equipment and perform basic maintenance as required.
• Work in adverse weather and ensure safety and professionalism.
