Job summary

TransAlta is seeking a Wind Technician for the Windrise Wind Farm near Fort Macleod, Alberta. You will maintain and repair wind turbine assets, follow strict safety and regulatory standards, and collaborate with Siemens Gamesa and internal teams to ensure reliable power delivery.

The role is full-time, salaried, on-site, requiring relevant certifications and a hands-on mechanical/electrical background with a driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Appropriate certification or education in a related discipline.
• Electrical or mechanical background is asset.
• Understanding of plant operations and compliance.
• Knowledge of contractor requirements and inventory management.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance and repair of wind turbine equipment by a skilled team.
• Support operations plan to drive performance and continuous improvement.
• Stay compliant with EHS, regulatory standards and cost controls.
• Ensure routine maintenance performed accurately and documented.
• Collaborate with peers and contractors to resolve issues professionally.
