Job summary

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, part of Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, seeks experienced Winch Cat Operators to safely operate grooming equipment and perform routine maintenance on resort machinery.

You will work flexible shifts in extreme weather, maintain safety standards, and participate in a team dedicated to delivering a premier mountain experience for guests and staff alike.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating snow-grooming equipment with an excellent safety record.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of basic operations and equipment maintenance.
  • Basic understanding of mountain resort maintenance and ski/snowboarding terrain needs.
  • Team-oriented mindset and a desire to contribute to the entire resort.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse range of people.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate grooming equipment, completing pre and post trip inspections.
  • Perform daily light maintenance (topping up fluids, cleaning interior and exterior, greasing, and fueling).
  • Recognize and report unusual noises and conditions to the Maintenance team.
  • Complete daily vehicle log sheets and daily data input form.
  • Maintain high traffic areas with rebuilding and maintaining slopes.
  • Perform snow removal and snow farming (including snowmaking and snow fencing).
  • Relay grooming information to Security for the daily grooming report.
  • Record and report any potential hazards to Mountain Safety.
  • Be an advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Work flexible shifts, including afternoons, graveyards, holidays and weekends, in extreme weather conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You Have

  • Winch Cat Operator Level 2: $23.27 -$26.27
  • Winch Cat Operator Level 3: $24.32 - $27.32
