Job description

About Insectica

Insectica Pest Control & Wildlife Removal Inc. is a fast‑growing, locally owned company serving Toronto and the GTA with humane wildlife removal and professional pest control services. We help homeowners, property managers, and businesses solve problems with raccoons, squirrels, skunks, birds, bats, and pigeons using safe, humane, and long‑term exclusion solutions.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Wildlife Technician who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems on roofs and in attics, and dealing with nuisance wildlife in a safe and professional way. You will inspect properties, identify wildlife issues, complete humane removal and exclusion work, and provide excellent customer service on every job.

Base pay starts at $19/hour plus commission, and you'll receive a company vehicle for work use and up to 200 KM for personal use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect residential and commercial properties for wildlife activity, entry points, damage, and safety concerns.
  • Handle wildlife issues involving raccoons, squirrels, skunks, birds, bats, and pigeons, using humane removal and exclusion methods.
  • Install one‑way doors, screening, vent covers, chimney caps, metal flashing, and other wildlife‑proofing materials to prevent re‑entry.
  • Perform minor exterior repairs (soffits, fascia, roof edges, vents) related to wildlife damage and exclusion.
  • Work safely on roofs, ladders, in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined or elevated areas in various weather conditions.
  • Communicate clearly with customers, explain findings and recommended solutions, and provide written or digital service quotes.
  • Document inspections, photos, work performed, materials used, and follow‑up recommendations using mobile apps or company systems.
  • Follow all applicable wildlife, safety, and humane‑removal regulations and company procedures.
Qualifications
  • Valid G driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
  • At least 1 year of US or Canadian experience in wildlife removal.
  • Pest control, roofing, construction, handyman work, or a related field are an asset.
  • Comfortable working at heights (ladders, roofs) and in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces).
  • Physically fit and able to lift equipment and work outdoors in all seasons.
  • Strong customer‑service skills and clear, professional communication.
  • Able to work independently, problem‑solve on site, and represent the Insectica brand professionally.

Experience with humane wildlife removal techniques and exclusion materials (mesh, flashing, chimney caps, vent covers) will be considered a strong advantage.

Schedule
  • Regular days off will be scheduled in the middle of the week (e.g., two weekdays off instead of Saturday/Sunday).
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and during peak wildlife seasons as needed.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base Salary: $19/hour.
  • Commission: plus additional commission for exceeding monthly service targets and upselling approved wildlife, exclusion, pest control, and prevention services.
  • Company vehicle provided for work use (fuel, insurance, and standard maintenance covered by the company) and up to 200 KM for personal use.
  • Paid training on Insectica’s wildlife and pest‑control procedures.
  • Opportunities for growth into senior technician or team lead roles as the wildlife division expands.
