Silvacom Ltd. seeks a Wildfire Mitigation Specialist to solve complex environmental and land management challenges across Canada. You will work in the Energy & Environment team, supporting projects in municipal, forestry, oil and gas, utility, and government sectors.

The role blends fieldwork with office duties to plan, implement, and monitor wildfire mitigation activities. The position is Alberta-based, in-office or hybrid within the Edmonton or Calgary area, with travel to project sites across

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in forestry, environmental science, ecology, natural resource management, environmental planning, agriculture, geography, GIS, or a related discipline
  • Graduate degree considered an asset but not required
  • Eligible for or working toward a professional designation such as:RPF, RPFT, P.Bio., P.Ag., EP, or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement wildfire mitigation strategies and treatment plans
  • Conduct wildfire risk and fuel hazard assessments, informing mitigation planning
  • Develop treatment prescriptions including thinning, pruning, mowing, species conversion, dead and down woody debris reduction
  • Perform field assessments and collect environmental, vegetation, and geospatial data
  • Support habitat restoration planning, implementation, and monitoring
  • Coordinate project tasks, schedules, and deliverables
  • Prepare technical reports, maps, presentations, and regulatory documentation
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders and contribute to team knowledge development
