Job summary

ONroute is hiring janitor/cleaner to help maintain high cleaning standards and disinfect plazas, equipment and spaces along Ontario highways. The role offers flexible part-time and full-time shifts to fit varying schedules.

Reliable transportation is required as plazas are located on major routes. Previous experience in restaurants or retail is helpful, but the right attitude and teamwork are valued above all. ONroute provides health benefits for full-time staff and meal allowances during shifts.

• Experience in cleaning or janitorial work is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning in and outside the building, including restrooms, floors, and surfaces.
• Disinfect surfaces and maintain sanitation across plazas and equipment.
• Restock dispensers, empty trash, and assist other departments as needed.
• Respond to employee or guest requests and ensure a safe, inclusive work environment.

Job description

The Janitor / Cleaner is primarily a health and safety related position at ONroute to ensure that the required level of cleaning standards is maintained as well as disinfection of the plaza, equipment and overall space.

The job

• Responsible for all basic cleaning in and outside the building
• Cleaning and disinfecting all surface areas including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows
• Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals
• Picking up any trash and emptying the trash bins inside and outside
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
• Responding to employee or guest requests
• Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
• Performs additional duties as needed

Reliable transportation is required as our plazas are located on the 401/ 400 highways, and public transportation is not available.
