Job summary

ONroute is hiring part time and full time cleaners at our Port Hope plazas. The Janitor / Cleaner role focuses on health and safety, maintaining cleaning standards, and disinfecting the plaza, equipment and spaces.

You will perform routine cleaning of restrooms, floors, surfaces, and assist other departments as needed. Reliable transportation is required since plazas are on highways; previous experience in food service or retail is helpful.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning or janitorial work preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean inside and outside the building and restrooms.
• Disinfect surfaces, dust, mop, vacuum, and perform spot cleaning.
• Stock dispensers, empty trash, and maintain cleanliness of fixtures and floors.
• Support other departments to ensure guest satisfaction and provide additional duties as needed.

The job:

• New Position: No
• Backfill Position: Yes
• Responsible for all basic cleaning in and outside the building
• Cleaning and disinfecting all surface areas including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows
• Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals
• Picking up any trash and emptying the trash bins inside and outside
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
• Responding to employee or guest requests
• Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
• Performs additional duties as needed

Reliable transportation is required as our plazas are located on the 401/ 400 highways, and public transportation is not available.
