Job summary

ONroute is hiring full-time cleaners to maintain high cleaning standards across our plazas located along Ontario highways. You will disinfect surfaces, mop and mop floors, restock dispensers, and assist other departments to ensure excellent guest service.

We offer $17.90 per hour, health and dental coverage for full-time staff, an employer match RRSP, meal allowance, free uniforms, and a safe, inclusive workplace that values teamwork and integrity.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning environments is preferred.
• Ability to clean and disinfect all surface areas including restrooms.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work on shifts.

The Janitor / Cleaner is primarily a health and safety related position at ONroute to ensure that the required level of cleaning standards is maintained as well as disinfection of the plaza, equipment and overall space.

The job:

• New Position: No
• Backfill Position: Yes
• Responsible for all basic cleaning in and outside the building
• Cleaning and disinfecting all surface areas including dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, picking up larger objects off the floor, and spot cleaning glass and windows
• Cleans restrooms, including restocking dispensers, emptying trash, cleaning and sanitizing fixtures, cleaning mirrors, spot cleaning partition doors and walls, sweeping and mopping tile floors, and cleaning toilets and urinals
• Picking up any trash and emptying the trash bins inside and outside
• Sets up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
• Responding to employee or guest requests
• Assists other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests
• Performs additional duties as needed

Reliable transportation is required as our plazas are located on the 401/ 400 highways, and public transportation is not available.
