Job summary

House of Friendship in Kitchener is seeking a Wellness Worker for the HART Transitional Housing program to provide tailored supports, help participants reach health and housing goals, and conduct property rounds. This permanent, casual relief role requires scheduling three shifts per month and is accompanied by a salary grid and benefits.

The role emphasizes building relationships, independent work, and collaboration within a team while participating in the Needle Syringe Program and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum 1-year post-secondary diploma/certificate in a related field to social services
• Previous experience in a social service environment is preferred
• Health and social services training important

Responsibilities

• Connect with individuals in the program.
• Establish and maintain a helping relationship with individuals in the program.
• Complete regular checks of buildings to ensure safety of individuals in the program.
• Ensure that individuals are not loitering on property.
• Administrative tasks.
• Participation in the Needle Syringe Program.
