Job summary

HERD North America Inc. in Winnipeg, MB is hiring a Welding Technician for the day shift on a full-time permanent basis. Starting wage is $20+ per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for training and career advancement.

The role requires setting up and operating welding equipment, reading blueprints, and performing inspections. Training and a supportive environment are provided to grow your skills and contribute to quality products.

Qualifications

• Previous welding experience required; aluminum-specific training available.
• Experience with fitting and using bandsaws is an asset.
• Ability to work independently in a welding bay.
• Ability to read a metric tape measure.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Welding test may be required.
• Must own a welding helmet and safety boots.
• Reliable transportation; HERD is not accessible via public transit.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various welding equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and weld symbols
• Conduct post-weld inspections
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or adjustments as needed
• Maintain accurate records of welding activities
• Strictly adhere to safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment

Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 3:30pm
