Job summary

Kleysen Group Ltd. is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Fleet Repair and Maintenance team in Winnipeg, MB. The Welder will perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet equipment and contribute to fabrication projects.

Skills include SMAW and GMAW on steel and aluminum for heavy trailing equipment such as flat deck trailers and intermodal containers. The role requires safety awareness, ability to lift 50 lbs, own tools, and reliable transportation since the facility is outside of public

Qualifications

• Journeyman welder preferred; apprentice with experience considered.
• At least 2 years' experience on tractors/trailers.
• Must be physically fit to lift ~50 lbs and kneel/crouch for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on fleet equipment.
• Fabrication work for assemblies as needed.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment for repairs.
• Operate in a shop environment with strict safety compliance.

Job description

We are looking to add an experiencedWelderto join our Fleet Repair and Maintenance team in Winnipeg, MB. As part of our experienced and cohesive team, theWelderis responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to our fleet equipment as well as some fabrication project work. Job skills include SMAW, GMAW (steel) GMAW (aluminum) in the repair and modification of heavy trailing equipment and the fabrication of assemblies required for use with this equipment. Trailing equipment to be repaired and modified will include: flat deck trailers, intermodal containers, end dump and pneumatic tank trailers. Some mechanical disassembly and reassembly of the equipment may be required in order to perform the required welding and maintenance repairs.

Position Requirements:

• Preference given to Journeyman Welder (apprentice with experience and willingness to complete will be considered)
• Preference given to candidates with at least 2 years’ experience working on tractors/trailers
• Strong work ethic and attendance
• Must be physically fit (able to lift approx. 50 lbs., kneeling and crouching for extended periods of time)
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members
• Must have own tools and safety boots
• Demonstrated safety knowledge
• Commitment to continuous learning
• Experience working in a shop environment an asset
• The successful candidate will require reliable transportation as our facility is located outside of public transport
