Job summary

Kleysen Group in Winnipeg, MB is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Fleet Repair and Maintenance team. The role involves maintenance and repairs on our heavy trailing equipment and some fabrication work, using SMAW and GMAW processes.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of experience with tractors/trailers, own tools and safety boots, and can lift 50 lbs. The schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with pre-employment drug testing and a safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Welder preferred; apprentice with experience and willingness to complete will be considered.
• At least 2 years’ experience working on tractors/trailers.
• Strong work ethic and attendance.
• Must be physically fit (able to lift approx. 50 lbs., kneeling and crouching for extended periods).
• Able to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members.
• Must have own tools and safety boots.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to fleet equipment.
• Fabrication work for assemblies needed for equipment usage.
• Welding using SMAW and GMAW (steel & aluminum) on heavy trailing equipment.
• Disassemble/reassemble components as required to complete welding and repairs.
• Maintain safety standards and work in a shop environment.

Job description

We are looking to add an experiencedWelderto join our Fleet Repair and Maintenance team in Winnipeg, MB. As part of our experienced and cohesive team, theWelderis responsible for performing maintenance and repairs to our fleet equipment as well as some fabrication project work. Job skills include SMAW, GMAW (steel) GMAW (aluminum) in the repair and modification of heavy trailing equipment and the fabrication of assemblies required for use with this equipment. Trailing equipment to be repaired and modified will include: flat deck trailers, intermodal containers, end dump and pneumatic tank trailers. Some mechanical disassembly and reassembly of the equipment may be required in order to perform the required welding and maintenance repairs.
