Vale Base Metals is a global supplier of critical minerals. We are seeking a Welder Fitter to join our Maintenance Department in Sudbury, Ontario. Relocation is required for this role.
Permanent on‑site position working shift to support a 24‑hour operation.
- Responsible for all metal fabrication, metal welding including pressure welding, brazing, cutting, and gouging.
- Read and interpret structural steel drawings, pipe and pressure vessel drawings.
- Lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, dismantle, modify and repair plate and structural steel, plant and mine equipment.
- Align with work safety policies and safety regulations.

- Trade Certification in Metal Fabricator/Plate worker (437A Red Seal) is required and CWB Certified.
- Minimum 4 years of progressive industrial experience is preferred.
- Experience with oxy‑fuel and plasma arc cutting.
- Knowledge of welding codes and standards.
- Experience with rigging and material handling.
- Knowledge of specific welding hazards to protect self and others is required.
- Experience with metal working equipment (shear, brake press, rolls, radial drill, and power saws).
- Ability to interpret and work off shop drawings in a custom fabrication environment.
Minimum Starting Hourly Rate: $50.338
