Job description
Responsibilities
Perform Standardized Welding Operations: Execute welding tasks for automotive body structure parts according to established Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), operating robotic welding cells or performing manual welding.
Ensure Quality & Self-Inspection: Conduct first-piece and periodic self-inspections of welded products, identify common weld defects (e.g., spatter, undercut, porosity), and ensure parts meet quality standards.
Basic Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of welding equipment, such as replacing gun nozzles and contact tips.
Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to shop floor safety protocols, use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly, and ensure work complies with environmental regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with production line teams, process technicians, and quality inspectors to meet production targets.
Precision Process Development: Responsible for the development and parameter optimization of welding processes for automotive body structural components (e.g., rails, bumper beams, suspension brackets, battery trays). Ensure weld strength, fatigue life, and dimensional accuracy meet stringent engineering standards.
Technical Problem-Solving: Lead the resolution of high-difficulty technical challenges in body welding, such as welding dissimilar metals (ultra-high-strength steel, aluminum), minimizing weld distortion, and increasing automation rates.
Tooling & Automation Collaboration: Work closely with tooling and automation engineers to design and commission welding fixtures and robotic welding cells, ensuring production cycle time and process stability.
