Job summary

Walinga Inc is seeking an experienced welder to join our manufacturing operations. The role involves reading drawings, preparing materials, welding components, and inspecting joints to ensure quality, safety, and compliance.

You will fabricate and repair metal structures, set up welding operations, and maintain equipment. A high school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years welding experience is preferred, along with a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of safety standards and PPE.
  • Able to work independently or in a team.

Overview

Responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques. The role also involves interpreting technical
drawings, preparing materials, and executing welding tasks to create or repair metal structures and components.

Responsibilities
  • Follow safe work practices and use required safety equipment.
  • Read drawings and take measurements.
  • Fabricate equipment by cutting and welding metals.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Inspect welded joints for quality and compliance, using visual and non-destructive testing.
  • Align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic equipment.
  • Maintain equipment and work areas to ensure safety.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience in welding preferred.
  • Good knowledge of trade methods, standard practices, and various metal alloys.
  • Skilled in using welding tools and equipment for fabricating, fitting, assembling, manufacturing, and repairing parts and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and layouts.
  • Capable of selecting proper welding techniques for various alloys and maintaining equipment, tools, and welding devices.
  • Knowledgeable about safety standards with the ability to report unsafe conditions and a commitment to using protective gear.
  • Detail-oriented with strong basic math skills.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced environments and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to climb, walk, squat, kneel, work overhead and in various welding positions, lift up to 10 lbs from floor to above shoulder height, and work in varying temperatures and around chemicals.
