In this role, you’ll learn alongside a skilled welder and experienced machinists and toolmakers in a hands-on, challenging, and rewarding environment.

What you’ll get to do
  • Work under the direction of the assigned supervisor or Manufacturing Leader to review drawings, welding symbols, work instructions, and specifications in order to understand fabrication requirements, weld details, tolerances, and assembly sequence.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment and related tools safely and effectively to complete assigned welding tasks in accordance with project requirements.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, spot, and other welding processes, as required, on structural steel, aluminum, stainless steel, and other materials used in tooling, fixtures, automation equipment, and custom machinery.
  • Fit, align, tack, and weld components, frames, brackets, panels, and assemblies to specified dimensions and quality standards.
  • Work closely with machinists, toolmakers, fabricators, millwrights, and other skilled trades personnel to support the fabrication, assembly, and completion of projects.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and layout information to prepare parts for welding, assembly, and final installation.
  • Inspect welded assemblies for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, strength, and conformance to specifications using measuring tools and visual inspection techniques.
  • Grind, clean, bevel, clamp, and prepare materials and welded surfaces for fabrication, finishing, or further assembly.
  • Assist in the repair, modification, rework, and maintenance of tooling, fixtures, machines, and welded structures as required.
  • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition, and report any equipment issues or safety concerns promptly.
  • Support testing, troubleshooting, and final adjustments of completed assemblies to ensure proper fit, function, and performance.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and established shop practices while completing work assignments.
  • Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to supervisors and team members to support efficient project completion.
