Job description

KPIC Maintenance Services Inc., a member of the FWS Group of Companies, specializes in industrial maintenance services, providing preventative and reactive solutions, along with small project retrofits and expansions primarily in grain handling, feed mill, and food processing facilities.

We are recruiting for a Welder at our Saskatoon and Yorkton, SK locations to join our team-focused organization.

Position Overview :

  • Promote safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
  • Follow standards, codes, and best practices for safe work.
  • Operate equipment safely, including forklifts, skid steer loaders, scissor lifts, and power tools, with proficiency in hoisting and rigging.
  • Support millwrights and electricians with mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, installations, and dismantling as per specifications.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and field repairs of equipment.
  • Interpret drawings and manuals accurately, providing precise layouts and ensuring proper maintenance and service.
  • Use various welding and cutting equipment effectively.
  • Supervise laborers and resources as needed.
  • Mentor and train junior workers to develop skills.
  • Complete daily paperwork clearly and accurately.
  • Manage company tools and maintain a clean tool trailer daily.

Qualifications Needed :

  • Reside near the posted location.
  • Demonstrate honesty, integrity, and a customer-focused attitude.
  • Be motivated, positive, and capable of multitasking within a team and independently.
  • Have welding skills, including rod selection and heat treatment understanding.
  • Inspect welds to meet quality standards and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Possess CWB certification (flat and/or all positions, SMAW process) is preferred.
  • Additional assets include B-Pressure certification, mechanical troubleshooting skills, and experience with industrial drives, shafts, bearings, and lubrication.
  • Experience in industrial maintenance or the agricultural industry is advantageous.
  • Enrolled in an apprenticeship program; journeyman status is a plus.
  • Able to work in various weather conditions and dusty environments.
  • Hold current safety certifications such as First Aid, fall arrest, confined space, WHMIS, CSTS; valid and current training preferred.
  • No previous safety violations within the FWS Group.
  • Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Other Information :

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
  • Flexible to work during scheduled shutdowns, shifts, and overtime.
  • Occasional overnight trips and travel may be required.
  • Multiple shift opportunities available.
