Job summary

Fix Auto Uxbridge is seeking a hand-on welder for on-site work in Canada. You will operate various welding machines, read blueprints, and ensure weld quality to meet specifications. The role requires reading drawings and performing related metal fabrication tasks at the shop location.

Applicants should have 7 months to under 1 year of welding experience, strong teamwork, punctuality, and a hardworking attitude to support production schedules and maintain equipment reliability at the facility.

Qualifications

• 7 months to less than 1 year of welding experience.
• On-site work with no remote option is required.
• Ability to read welds and blueprints is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes.
• Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines.
• Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal.
• Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC).
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications.
• Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products.
• Fit and weld parts together.
