Job summary

Fix Auto Uxbridge is seeking a welding technician to join our on-site team. You will operate welding equipment, read blueprints, and help fabricate and repair metal parts.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and 7 months to under 1 year welding experience, with familiarity in GTAW, GMAW, MIG, and oxy-fuel cutting, and a solid team player.

Qualifications

• Secondary/high school graduation certificate is required.
• 7 months to less than 1 year welding experience preferred.
• English language proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
• Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
• Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
• Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
• Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
• Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications
• Operate metal cleaning equipment to remove excess welds, rust, scale and other materials from surfaces of metal products
• Fit and weld parts together
