Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Welder for an on-site contract-to-hire role in Nisku, AB. You will weld structural components, read blueprints, and work from daily toolbox meetings to address project needs.

This position requires performing FCAW/MCAW on beams and columns and ensuring compliance with relevant welding standards. The role involves reading drawings, fitting components, and operating welding equipment in a busy shop/field environment, with regular overtime potential and a path to long-term

Qualifications

• Experience in structural welding for commercial and industrial projects (beams, columns, frames).
• Proficiency in FCAW welding with CWB flat and horizontal certification.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Journeyman, apprentice, or unticketed welder qualifications.

Job Title: Welder Job Description

As a Welder, you will begin each day with a toolbox meeting to assess project progression and urgent requirements. You will be responsible for welding a variety of structural components such as beams, columns, and skids, while also reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.

• Assemble metal sections and plates into units and sub-units.

• Interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication details.

• Assist with fitting, aligning, and preparing steel components prior to welding.

Essential Skills

• Experience in structural welding for commercial and industrial projects involving beams, columns, frames, and platforms.

• Proficiency in Flux Core (FCAW) welding with CWB flat and horizontal certification required.

• Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

• Journeyman, apprentice, or unticketed welder qualifications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic fitting experience.

• Fabrication shop experience.

• CWB certification for all positions is a plus.

Work Environment

Located in Nisku, the work schedule is Monday to Thursday from 6 AM to 4 PM, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:45 PM, totaling 44 hours per week. Overtime is available after 44 hours per week.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nisku, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
