Job summary

Schulte Industries Ltd. is seeking a Welder to perform production welding, fitting and assembly at our Englefeld facility. This on-site role requires relocation to the Englefeld/Humboldt area with a relocation allowance.

You will read shop drawings, prepare materials, perform MIG welding, inspect welds and support production while upholding ISO 9001 quality standards. A high school diploma and 0–3 years welding experience are preferred; welding certification is an asset.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; welding experience preferred.
  • Able to read basic shop drawings, specifications and instructions.
  • Welding certification is an asset and forklift training may be required.
  • Able to perform MIG welding and basic fabrication tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding and other welding processes to manufacture products.
  • Fit and assemble components per drawings and work instructions.
  • Prepare materials: fitting, grinding, cleaning and positioning.
  • Read shop drawings and production documentation accurately.
  • Follow welding procedures, SOPs and quality checks.
  • Inspect welds and report defects or non-conforming work.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area.

Job description

Under general supervision, the Welder is responsible for performing production welding, fitting, and assembly activities for Schulte products in accordance with specifications, work instructions, and quality standards. The incumbent operates welding equipment, performs basic weld preparation and finishing activities, conducts quality inspections, and supports production requirements while complying with company safety standards and the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Please note: This position is an on-site opportunity that requires relocation to the Englefeld/Humboldt or nearby area. Relocation allowance will be provided to the selected candidate.

Essential Functions of the Job:
  • Perform MIG welding and other welding processes as required to manufacture Schulte products.
  • Spot, weld, fit, and assemble components and weldments according to shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Prepare materials for welding, including fitting, grinding, cleaning, and positioning components.
  • Read and interpret basic shop drawings, specifications, and production documentation.
  • Follow established welding procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Complete first-part inspection procedures and required quality verification sign-offs.
  • Inspect weldments and report non-conforming products, defects, or quality concerns.
  • Clean weldments and remove weld spatter and excess material as required.
  • Properly handle and use jigs, fixtures, welding equipment, hand tools, and material handling equipment.
  • Perform daily inspections of welding equipment, rotators, hoists, cranes, rigging, forklifts, and related equipment as required.
  • Identify completed weldments using assigned stamps or identification methods.
  • Assist with production activities and support other welders as required.
  • Maintain production schedules and complete assigned work within established deadlines.
  • Receive work assignments and direction from Supervisors.
  • Participate in safety observations and comply with all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Attend training as required.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
  • Ability to read and interpret basic shop drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic welding and fabrication activities.
  • Ability to identify weld defects and substandard workmanship.
  • Ability to safely operate welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and material handling equipment.Ability to follow safe work procedures and quality standards.
  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, air tools, jigs, fixtures, and rigging equipment.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

0–3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.

Basic blueprint and weld symbol reading skills preferred.

Welding certification considered an asset.

Forklift Training as determined by Supervisor.
