Job summary

Cheticamp Boatbuilders in Nova Scotia is seeking a Welder/Fabricator/Mechanic to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. The role involves transferring AutoCAD drawings to fabrication, planning and welding boat components, and installing repairs to vessels.

Candidates should be proficient in MIG/TIG/SMAW/FCAW welding, capable of physically demanding work, and able to work in confined spaces. Red Seal or equivalent experience is required, with flexibility for team and solo work.

Qualifications

• Red Seal welder or comparable level of experience.
• Ability to transfer detailed sketches and AutoCAD designs to fabrication.
• Willingness to work in physically demanding labour and confined spaces.

Duties And Responsibilities

Skills And Requirements

• Competent and confident in the 4 primary forms of welding (MIG/TIG/SMAW/FCAW)
• Capable of physically demanding labour, long hours, and sometimes compromising positions
• Willing to work in confined spaces
• Comfortable and capable of working as a team/tandem/solo

Education

• We require a Red Seal welder, or of a comparable level of experience.
