Job Title: Assembly Technician/Welder

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Job Overview

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the fabrication and assembly of high-quality components and products, ensuring they meet precise specifications and standards. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise in welding and mechanical assembly, along with a commitment to safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and understand fabrication blueprints/drawings.
  • Perform all mechanical assembly operations of sub‑assemblies and package assembly, and functional test set up including in‑process quality checks and tests.
  • Fit metal components according to provided blueprints/drawings and specifications, ensuring all tolerances are met.
  • Use processes such as GMAW (MIG) and FCAW.
  • Operate welding equipment (manual or semi‑automatic) and metal shaping machines.
  • Ensure tasks are performed in the allotted time and in accordance with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
  • Operate forklift, hand truck and/or other material handling equipment to move material as required.
  • Maintain welding equipment and perform basic maintenance.
  • Operate metal‑working equipment including press brake, saws, etc. as required.
  • Mask and paint parts as required.
Qualifications
  • Technical trade school in welding or mechanics.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of mechanical assembly and welding experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience reading and understanding fabrication prints.
  • Manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and conditions.
  • Ability to operate forklift and cranes (training provided).
  • Adherence to safety standards and company policies.
