Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and repairs of roads and other infrastructure assets. This individual will maintain contracted assets such as roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc., according to standards and supervisor directives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices safely, including cones, message/arrow boards, and signage.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs on bridge structures and facilities, including railings, expansion joints, doors, and painting.
  • Maintain functionality of roadway catch basins, sumps, pumps, fire hydrants, and other mechanical assets using appropriate tools.
  • Transport crew and equipment using large trucks and trailers.
  • Maintain and repair highway surfaces, including potholes, striping, reflectors, and concrete/asphalt work.
  • Keep highways and medians clean from litter and debris, including snow and ice removal.
  • Repair slopes, berms, culverts, and drains with hand or power tools.
  • Control vegetation growth using mowing equipment, trimmers, and chemical sprayers.
  • Maintain signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting through repairs or replacements.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites using pickup trucks and specialized vehicles.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of infrastructure maintenance.
  • Adherence to safe work practices and use of PPE.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and adjust to avoid accidents.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret instructions and documents.
  • Flexibility to work extensive hours as needed.
  • Attention to detail and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Skill in using small hand and power tools related to concrete and asphalt work.
  • Professional communication with the public and team members.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in infrastructure maintenance and repair preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record required; Class DZ/AZ license and OTM Book 7 are highly desirable.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands

Work involves exposure to traffic, weather extremes, chemicals, insects, and occasional heights or confined spaces. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds, using various tools, and working in diverse environments.
