Global Watch Company (GWC) is seeking a full-time Web Developer to maintain and enhance its luxury watch brand websites in Vancouver, BC. You will build new brand sites, scale the architecture, and keep the platform fast, accessible, and easy to extend.

Ideal candidates have strong React/Next.js skills, experience with GraphQL, and a track record of delivering high-quality, scalable e-commerce front-ends within a multi-brand setup.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

The Global Watch Company (GWC) is one of Vancouver's leading watch and jewelry retailers, specializing in Haute Horlogerie and rare luxury diamonds. GWC is proud to be the only retailer in Vancouver that owns and operates boutiques dedicated to the Rolex, Tudor, and Chopard brands - located in the heart of downtown Vancouver's Luxury Zone.

About the Role

Global Watch Company (GWC), Vancouver's leading watch and jewelry retailer, is seeking a skilled full-time Web Developer to join our team in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our fully custom-coded websites for our luxury watch brands and our main company website.

Our brand portfolio is expanding, with additional brands joining GWC and increasing the scope of our web presence. This role exists primarily to support that growth, helping us build new brand sites and sections while keeping our existing platform fast, consistent, and easy to extend.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain high-performance, responsive websites across our current portfolio - TUDOR, Chopard, Rolex, Panerai, and Global Watch Company's main site - with additional brand sites to follow.
• Support the expansion of our web presence by launching new brand sites and sections as additional brands join the portfolio, and by scaling the existing architecture to accommodate them.
• Build modular, reusable React and Next.js components within the MakeSwift platform.
• Integrate and consume data from BigCommerce APIs using GraphQL for products, categories, and payments.
• Integrate third-party systems and services, consuming RESTful APIs to connect inventory, CRM, marketing, and other external platforms with our websites.
• Collaborate with design and marketing teams to translate visual concepts into dynamic user interfaces.
• Optimize front-end performance, SEO, and accessibility.
• Implement analytics and tracking tools for performance and user insights.
• Troubleshoot and resolve website and integration issues promptly.

Who You Are

• Strong proficiency in React and Next.js
• Solid understanding of component-based architecture and state management
• Experience consuming APIs via GraphQL
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):

• Experience working with the MakeSwift platform
• Familiarity with BigCommerce or other headless eCommerce platforms
• Experience with payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal) and checkout integrations
• Familiarity with Docker or other containerization tools for local development and deployment
• A design-oriented mindset, with attention to UI/UX details
• Familiarity with SEO best practices
• Experience working within strict brand guidelines, where specifications for layout, typography, imagery, and tone must be followed precisely and are subject to brand approval
• Experience with luxury or retail brands, particularly across multi-brand or multi-site setups
• Knowledge of analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Tag Manager)
