Job description

Reporting to the Manager, IT, the Web Developer will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of EPRA’s web assets for our programs nationwide as well as any 3rd party associations we partner with, integrating them with front-end technologies and ensuring the seamless performance of the websites you work on via headless CMS. It is a fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines, requiring a high degree of accuracy. Communication with the team is key, as well as a willingness to take on other responsibilities within the IT department. This is a remote position; however, travel to our Mississauga, Ontario headquarters would be required at least once a year as well as infrequent visits to our office in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor for incoming requests for changes and fixes to all EPRA websites
• Collaborate with stakeholders to determine website layout, content, and design
• Utilize web applications and programming languages
• Write code for the website
• Integrate graphics, audio, and video into the website
• Create and test applications for the website
• Monitor website traffic and adjust as required
• Maintain underlying web infrastructure (update dependencies and keep code base clean and modernized)
• Work with Manager, IT to ensure that sites remain secure
• Perform testing and debugging to ensure the functionality and performance of various web projects
• Create and maintain templates for email marketing campaigns
• Assist the IT team with various tasks as required

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in web development
• Experience with Wordpress development and hosting
• Experience with Web Analytics tools (GA4, Looker, Pendo)
• Working knowledge of Jamstack web architecture (Vercel and DatoCMS)
• Basic knowledge of GIT or other version control system
• Familiarity with ticketing systems and project management software
• Experience creating and maintaining templates used for email marketing (Mailchimp experience ideal)
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills
