Job summary

IG Wealth Management is offering a winter term internship in Winnipeg, designed for students pursuing finance-related studies. You will work under a Wealth Advisor, gaining exposure to client service, financial planning, and practice management.

The program runs January to April 2027, about 37.5 hours per week, with potential for part‑time work during studies or full‑time opportunities after graduation. Salary ranges from CAD 49,000 to 51,000 prorated for the term.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a post‑secondary program in financial planning, finance, accounting, business administration, commerce, economics, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; client‑facing advisory interest.
• Curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems, data tools, or AI productivity tools is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Shadow a Wealth Advisor and learn about the day‑to‑day activities of a financial planning practice.
• Support client meeting preparation, follow‑up, and documentation.
• Assist with organizing and updating client information and financial planning files.
• Learn the financial planning process from discovery to implementation and ongoing service.
• Support business development initiatives such as market research and client engagement activities.
