Job summary

Thales Halifax is seeking a Waterfront Health Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist to work with the HSE/Facilities Manager and the Halifax Operations Manager to ensure ISO compliance and maintain HSE systems.

The role is onsite at a Canadian Navy base, with responsibilities including audits, incident investigations, training support, and liaison with base safety and contractors. Strong documentation and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience with safety management systems.
• Process safety management implementation is a plus.
• Strong skills across MS Office platforms.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System.
• Maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications; assist audits.
• Investigate incidents and drive corrective actions.
• Support HSE training and Safety Culture programs.
• Coordinate with base safety personnel and contractors.
• Maintain HSE documentation in the Safety Management System.
