Classification Summary - Union
A Water & Wastewater Quality Technician collects samples, analyzes and reports water quality results.
Duties - Union
• Operates a variety of laboratory and computer equipment.
• Collects, prepares and analyzes samples; sends samples to other labs for testing; prepares reagents.
• Reviews and evaluates data and communicates results to Wastewater Treatment Facility staff.
• Collects and arranges for the disposal of hazardous waste produced during laboratory testing.
• Maintains, calibrates and repairs various laboratory and sampling equipment; orders and maintains an inventory of related supplies; recommends equipment upgrades and expenditures.
• Responds to enquiries about laboratory operations from staff, consultants and the general public.
• Maintains the facility MDSD program.
• Trains staff in laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
