Job summary

SITE Resource Group Limited Partnership (SRG) is seeking Water Truck Operators for Fort McMurray, Alberta. You will safely operate single and tandem water trucks to support winter access and ice-road construction, distributing water per project requirements and weather conditions.

Join a team working with site supervisors to ensure safe water application, perform pre-trip inspections, and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of water truck operating experience.
• Experience with single and tandem water trucks.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both verbal and written.

Responsibilities

• Safe operation of single and tandem water trucks for water transport and distribution.
• Apply water to designated roads, access routes, and work areas.
• Adjust water flow and spraying for even distribution.
• Monitor site conditions and report hazards to supervisors.
• Follow site safety procedures and directions from supervisors and crew.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and report deficiencies.
• Install tire chains for winter conditions and ensure vehicle readiness.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area around the truck.

Job description

We are recruiting Water Truck Operators to support upcoming winter access and ice-road construction projects in Fort McMurray, Alberta. Water Truck Operators will safely operate single and tandem water trucks to transport and distribute water for freeze-down activities, supporting the construction and maintenance of ice roads, access roads, and work areas. The successful candidates will work closely with site supervisors and ground crews to ensure water is applied safely and effectively based on project requirements, weather conditions, and site conditions.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate single and tandem water trucks to transport and distribute water for freeze-down and winter access activities
• Apply water to designated roads, access routes, work areas, and other surfaces as directed
• Adjust water flow and spraying systems to achieve proper and even water distribution
• Monitor road and site conditions and communicate any hazards, changing conditions, or concerns to the appropriate supervisor
• Follow directions provided by site supervisors and ground crew, including verbal instructions and hand signals
• Conduct pre-trip and routine inspections of the water truck and related equipment and report any deficiencies
• Install tire chains when required and ensure the truck is properly equipped for winter operating conditions
• Maintain a clean and safe work area around the water truck and ensure equipment is free of unnecessary debris or ice buildup
• Work collaboratively with site supervisors and other crew members to prioritize areas requiring water based on project requirements and weather conditions
• Follow all company and site-specific safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements
• Complete required documentation, inspections, and other operational paperwork as required
• Perform additional duties as required

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of water truck operating experience
• Experience operating single and tandem water trucks
• Valid Class 3 driver's licence
• Experience with winter access, freeze-down, or ice-road construction is an asset
• Ability to install tire chains and operate safely in winter conditions
• Strong understanding of safe vehicle operation and site safety practices
• Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Must be fit for duty
• Willing and able to stay in camp accommodations as required
• Must be immediately eligible and able to work in CanadaMust successfully complete a pre-employment alcohol and drug test, including cannabis
• Must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
