Job summary

WSP invites an Engineering Co-op Student to join our Vancouver Water Treatment Group for an 8- or 12-month term, based at our Howe Street office. You will support environmental projects, gain hands-on experience, and learn from a team of professionals in water and wastewater treatment.

This role emphasizes practical engineering exposure, project collaboration, and on-site sampling. The ideal candidate is pursuing Chemical or Environmental Engineering and is eager to develop technical skills

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering degree program.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment terminology is an asset.
Knowledge of water chemistry is an asset.
A valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate sampling programs for wastewater systems in BC coastal Indigenous communities.
Assist with design and analysis of water treatment projects, including sizing, specifications, and process modelling.
Prepare technical reports, proposals, specifications, process schematics, and layout drawings.
Coordinate with vendors and project stakeholders.
Collaborate with a diverse team and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Participate in occasional on-site sampling and laboratory testing.
Work in a hybrid environment balancing remote and office work.
