Job summary

McElhanney is seeking an Intermediate Water Resources Engineer to join our Vancouver, BC team. You will lead hydrotechnical and civil water projects, coordinate design and deliverables, and mentor junior staff. The role offers opportunities to grow into project management and client leadership within a multidisciplinary environment.

Ideal candidates have 6+ years of consulting experience, a Civil/Environmental/Water Resources degree, and P.Eng. eligibility in British Columbia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering.
• 6+ years of relevant consulting experience.
• P.Eng. in British Columbia or eligible for registration.
• Experience in storm, sanitary or water network modelling.
• Experience with project management, budgeting, scheduling, and client engagement.
• Interest in business development and client relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical studies and designs for water resources projects.
• Prepare drawings, hydraulic analyses, and design reports.
• Coordinate project delivery, scheduling, budgeting, and client communications.
• Participate in field investigations and regulatory approvals.
• Progressively lead project management responsibilities.
• Support business development with proposals and client meetings.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
