Job summary

Qualifications

Completion of Grade 12 or GED equivalent.
Environmental Engineering Technology diploma. Educational equivalents may be considered.
Certification in NSECC Wastewater Treatment up to Level III with the ability to obtain Level III once combination of education and experience is acquired.
Certification in NSECC Wastewater Collection Level II or the ability to obtain it within three years in the position.
Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s license.
Criminal Records Check verification is required as a condition of employment.
Medical assessments may be required.

Responsibilities

Monitors and evaluates the performance of all process and control equipment related to treatment plants and related facilities.
Tracks, schedules and performs job tasks including inspection, maintenance and repair activities with detailed record keeping.
Recommends process control and efficiency improvements.
Operates facilities using VTScada and other methods to assure process control and remote plant operations.
Collects samples and analyzes wastewater characteristics per NSECC requirements.
Performs quality control tests on lab equipment and ensures accuracy of results.
Operates and maintains pump stations, building systems, and HVAC systems.
Performs duties safely and directs subcontractors as needed.
