Job summary

ALS is seeking a Warehouse Technician to support warehouse functions within the lab. You will prepare packaging for shipments, locate and retrieve samples, and manage inventory with attention to accuracy.

The role requires forklift operation, data entry, and safe handling practices in a fast-paced environment. You will also drive local deliveries and assist with various warehousing duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Basic computer skills and data entry accuracy.
• Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Prepare packaging for outgoing shipments of pulp samples and rejects.
• Sort, locate and retrieve sample pulp and rejects from warehouse using forklift.
• Accurate data entry and inventory control of sample rejects and pulps.
• Assist with inventory control, storage, disposal and return to clients.
• Primary driver for local deliveries and pickups.

At ALS, we encourage you to dream big.When you join us, you’ll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.About the Position:The Warehouse Technician will support the warehouse functions within the lab.Specific ResponsibilitiesPrepare packaging for outgoing shipments of pulp samples and rejects;Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulp and rejects from the warehouse facility using forklift;Accurate data entry and inventory control of sample rejects, pulps, scan pallets and bins;Assist with inventory control, pulp and reject storage, disposal and return to clients in a timely manner;Ensure sample records and supplies are complete and accurate;Primary driver for local deliveries and pick-ups;Maintains vehicle inspection logs under minimal supervision;Provide inventory count to invoice clients for their pulp and reject storage;Provides assistance to clients and other ALS Branches when necessary;General shipping, receiving and supplies warehousing functions as needed;Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;Other duties as assigned by manager.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly;Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment;Basic understanding of computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite);Good English communication skills both written and verbal and ability to read English;Ability to work within a team environment;Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Required QualificationsGrade 12 diploma preferred;Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving history (abstract required);Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required);Warehouse and Shipping & Receiving experience.Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds;Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machinesFrequently wearing a dust mask;Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;Manual dexterity to perform intricate and/or repetitive tasks;Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required;Ability to stand for a full shift;Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities;Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.Our benefits include:An estimated hourly pay of $28.59 CAD at the time of posting.
