Job description

Certainteed has an exciting career opportunity for a Warehouse Supervisor based in Winnipeg. This is a great chance to join a Top Employer and contribute to our growth and success.

Reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the activities of the assigned shipping, receiving, warehousing, and/or yard operations, in a manner that ensures maximum efficiency within cost and safety standards.

Enforces Safety Standards, and local policies/procedures to provide a safe working environment. Must recognize unsafe conditions and behaviors and make corrections to prevent injuries and property loss.

Responsibilities:

• Enforces the compliance to shipping procedures of shipping personnel, truckers and contractors.
• Oversees the development of documented standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storage, shipping, or packaging materials or products.
• Inspects the physical condition of the warehouse, vehicle fleet, equipment and rail lines to ensure good working order and standards are maintained.
• Trains all warehouse personnel in the safe and efficient performance of their duties. Strives to create a cross-trained department.
• Oversees the work schedule to ensure proper coverage for the warehouse.

IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?

• 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics / warehouse / shipping and/or customer service-related activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong computer skills; including Excel and Word.

What makes you stand out from the crowd?

• Experience in a manufacturing environment (Strongly Preferred)
• Gypsum wallboard manufacturing experience.
• 1 to 2 years of management/supervisory experience.
• Knowledge on SAP system (Strongly Preferred).
