Job summary

POWERGROUP Resources is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Hamilton, Ontario. The role involves receiving, inspecting, and organizing goods, picking orders for shipment, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

You will collaborate with purchasing, sales, and installation teams while upholding health and safety standards. This active warehouse position requires hands-on experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in warehouse, shipping/receiving, material handling, or a similar environment.
  • Experience working with construction materials, building products, or similar supply environments is a strong asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to identify products, quantities, and order information accurately; experience using barcode or scanning systems.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify products against purchase orders and packing slips

  • Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, or discrepancies

  • Pick and prepare customer orders accurately for shipment or delivery

  • Load and unload trucks safely

  • Package, label, secure, and stage products for delivery

  • Organize warehouse inventory and ensure materials are stored in the correct locations

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts

  • Locate and retrieve products for customer orders and installation crews

  • Prepare doors, hardware, trim, and related materials for upcoming projects

  • Ensure shipping and receiving documentation is complete and accurate

  • Communicate discrepancies, damaged materials, or shortages to management

  • Keep the warehouse, loading areas, and workspaces clean, safe, and organized

  • Operate warehouse equipment and material-handling equipment safely

  • Assist with deliveries or local pickups when required

  • Work closely with purchasing, sales, installation, and management teams

  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures

  • Perform other warehouse and shipping duties as required

  • Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, warehouse organization, maintaining inventory records, and identifying discrepancies

  • Hands-on experience picking and preparing orders, packing, labeling, and staging shipments for delivery or pickup

  • Experience receiving and checking incoming materials against purchase orders, invoices, or packing slips

  • Ability to identify shortages, damaged goods, or incorrect products in incoming or outgoing shipments

  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player

  • Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn inventory, warehouse management, shipping, ERP, or purchase order software

  • A strong work ethic and dependable attendance

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy

  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, delivery drivers, purchasing teams, sales teams, customers, and installation crews

  • Ability to clearly communicate discrepancies, damaged materials, shortages, or order issues to the appropriate team members

  • Forklift, loading equipment, power tool, or hand tool experience is an asset

  • Experience using inventory software, digital inventory systems, shipping software, Microsoft Office, or Excel is an asset

  • Welding or metal fabrication experience is considered a strong asset and will be an advantage

  • Experience reading basic fabrication drawings is an asset

  • Experience with MIG, TIG, or stick welding, or with fabrication tools such as grinders, saws, and drills is an asset

  • WHMIS or other relevant workplace safety training is an asset

  • Experience following workplace safety procedures, using PPE, and practicing safe material handling is an asset
    Physical Requirements

This is an active warehouse position requiring the employee to regularly stand, walk, bend, lift, carry, load, unload, and move materials. Candidates must be comfortable performing physical warehouse duties safely and efficiently.
