Job summary

Tridon Inc. Calgary is seeking an Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk to support inventory, shipping, and receiving operations, ensuring accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials, equipment, and products in a fast-paced environment.

The incumbent performs warehouse, logistics, and administrative duties to maintain inventory accuracy, assist with order fulfillment, and uphold safety and quality standards across the facility.

Qualifications

  • The applicant must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is an asset.
  • Minimum three years of inventory control, shipping and receiving experience.
  • Experience using ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Valid forklift certification and driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods against purchase orders and ensure accuracy.
  • Record inventory movements and perform cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and generate shipping documentation.
  • Maintain organized warehouse areas and safe storage practices.
  • Generate reports on inventory levels and shipping activities as required.
  • Coordinate with vendors, couriers, and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and ensure timely order processing.

Description
Job Summary

The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for supporting all inventory, shipping, and receiving operations while ensuring the accurate movement, storage, and tracking of materials, equipment, and products. This role is responsible for receiving incoming goods, processing outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure efficient order fulfillment and inventory control.

The incumbent performs a combination of warehouse, logistics, and administrative duties to support inventory accuracy, customer service, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities and Duties
Inventory Management
  • Receive and inspect incoming goods to ensure they match purchase orders and are free from damage.
  • Accurately receive inventory into NetSuite and maintain inventory records.
  • Record and update stock movements to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Perform daily, routine, and scheduled inventory cycle counts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations using proper labeling and storage practices.
  • Retrieve inventory for customer orders, rental equipment, repairs, and internal requests.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation and stock adjustments.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing to resolve discrepancies involving received goods.
Shipping & Receiving
  • Process and prepare outgoing shipments including customer orders, rental equipment, repairs, and internal transfers.
  • Package, label, and prepare shipments in accordance with company and carrier requirements.
  • Create shipping labels, waybills, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation.
  • Coordinate shipments with couriers and freight providers.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify quantities and product condition.
  • Sign for incoming deliveries and ensure receiving documentation is complete.
  • Process returns and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient shipping and receiving area.
Warehouse Operations
  • Put away stock in designated storage locations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and accessible warehouse and storage areas.
  • Ensure inventory is stored safely and efficiently to maximize space utilization.
  • Load and unload shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain accurate documentation for inventory transactions, receipts, shipments, returns, and transfers.
  • Generate reports related to inventory levels, shipping activities, and order fulfillment as required.
  • Assist with tracking inventory for projects and customer orders.
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding inventory availability, shipment status, and order progress.
  • Communicate with vendors, couriers, customers, and internal departments to resolve inventory or shipping issues.
  • Document and process customer orders accurately and promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Customer Service
  • Provide timely responses to inventory, parts, and shipment inquiries.
  • Assist customers with product availability, pricing, stock status, and shipping information.
  • Address inventory and shipping concerns professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service through accurate order processing and effective communication.
Relationships

The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk reports directly to the manager with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the General Manager.

Authority

The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk has the authority to:

  • Process shipping documentation, waybills, and customer billing as required.
  • Receive inventory into company systems.
  • Identify inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Recommend improvements to warehouse and inventory processes.
  • Coordinate shipping activities with approved carriers.
  • Support internal departments with inventory solutions.
Working Conditions and Physical Environment

The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk works in both warehouse and office environments. The role requires frequent movement throughout the warehouse, occasional outdoor work during loading and unloading activities, and exposure to varying weather conditions, moderate noise levels, warehouse equipment, and potentially hazardous materials. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices are required at all times.

Occasional local travel may be required.

Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Operations, or a related field is considered an asset.
Experience and Training
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in inventory control, shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or a related role.
  • Experience using inventory management or ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Experience operating forklifts and warehouse equipment.
Other Requirements
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Clean five-year driver's abstract.
  • Valid forklift certification (required).
  • Clear Criminal Background Check.
Skills
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, and receiving procedures.
  • Working knowledge of computerized inventory management and shipping systems (NetSuite preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of courier and freight shipping processes.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate within a team environment.

Physical Demands

The Inventory, Shipping & Receiving Clerk must be able to spend the majority of the day standing and walking, with occasional sitting while completing administrative tasks.

The role requires frequent:

  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, and reaching.
  • Loading and unloading shipments.
  • Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Working at a computer for extended periods when processing inventory transactions and shipping documentation.
