Job summary

Univar Solutions Canada Ltd at 64 Arrow Rd., Weston, ON offers a Warehouse Operator role reporting to the Warehouse Manager. You will perform warehouse duties, handle materials (including some hazardous products), monitor inventory, pick and pack orders, and assist with loading and unloading.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer and clerical skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Forklift experience and WHMIS/TDG training are assets.

Qualifications

• Strong organizational, mathematical, computer and clerical skills are essential.
• Must be self-motivated and able to apply independent judgement.
• Forklift operation experience is an asset.
• WHMIS and/or TDG training is an asset.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly.

Responsibilities

• Handle materials including some hazardous products.
• Monitor inventory levels of company products.
• Pick and pack orders, operate a forklift to load skids for shipping.
• Assist with off-loading from trucks and putting away product.
• Transfer bulk liquids from rail to tank or truck.
• Prepare customer orders with blending and packaging.
• Clean and maintain the warehouse and equipment.
• Some outdoor work required in various weather conditions.

About the position

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Operator is responsible for performing all warehouse duties as required

What you’ll do:

• Material handling of some hazardous products
• Monitor inventory levels of Company products
• Pick orders and prepare them for shipping using a forklift to place products on skids and wrap skids, and then load the skids onto trucks
• Assists with the off-loading with trucks and putting away of product
• Bulk liquid transfer from rail to tank or truck
• Prepares product orders for customers to include custom blending and packaging
• Cleans and maintains the warehouse and equipment
• Some outdoor work required in various weather conditions

What you’ll need:

• High school diploma or equivalent working experience
• Strong organizational, mathematical, computer and clerical skills
• Self-motivated and able to work within company policy where experience and
• independent judgement is demonstrated
• Forklift operation experience an asset
• WHMIS and/or TDG training an asset
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis

Pay and benefits:

The starting base wage for this position is $26.85 per hour during probationary period and increases to $32.60 thereafter. The specific wage offered to a candidate is established by the classification within the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) under which the position is covered.
