Job summary

Trotter & Morton Building Technologies in Calgary, AB is hiring a Lead Material Handler to oversee receiving, staging, and distribution of materials for commercial and industrial projects. You will supervise shipping/receiving activities, maintain inventory, coordinate with supervisors, and help ensure on-time deliveries, while embracing safety policies and weather at site.

Ideal candidates bring 1+ year of material handling experience, strong organizational skills, and ability to work under

Qualifications

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and properly organize their time.
• Communication with all parties involved to let them know they have received material
• Able to handle paperwork and distribute to right party
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Previous shipping receiving supervisory experience
• Excellent organizational skills
• Experience with MS Excel an asset
• Knowledge of mechanical , plumbing ,HVAC an asset
• Minimum one (1+) year experience in material handling
• H2S Alive, CSTS, WHMIS, MSDS

Responsibilities

• Safely offload trucks and trailers utilizing equipment if necessary
• Organize material around laydown and inside loading shed
• Direct traffic around the laydown area
• Compile and maintain a current inventory list
• Inspect incoming deliveries , confirm order completeness and check for damages
• Organize and tag items for outgoing deliveries
• Attend morning toolbox talk and understand priorities for the day
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the Superintendent
