Job summary

Metrie in Dartmouth NS is hiring a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator to oversee daily shipping and receiving with the warehouse. You will ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate, on schedule, and documented while maintaining inventory accuracy and process compliance.

What You’ll Do

The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily shipping and receiving activities with the warehouse. The position ensures that inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining proper documentation, inventory accuracy, and compliance with company procedures and customer requirements

Reporting responsibilities

You will report directly to the Warehouse Supervisor and will be a key member of our Metrie Distribution team at Dartmouth NS .

At a high-level, you will:

• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with freight carriers
• Collaborate with the production team to determine outbound shipment dates and priorities
• Manage safe and effective organization of stored goods and products
• Supervise and provide direction to your direct report
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks via a forklift
• Support all departments with administrative requirements. (Scanning, filing, mail, UPS/courier shipments, claims, cutting POs, order office supply and coordinating lunches/gatherings)
• Work as an active part of the Administration team, identifying bottle necks and work requirements and stepping in to actively provide support and cover where required.
• Effectively represent Metrie’s interests when dealing with customers and suppliers.

Who You Are

You are an ideal candidate if you:

• Have previous experience in shipping, receiving, and scheduling/coordinating
• Have previous experience in operating a forklift is an asset
• Have a positive attitude, lead by example, and are respectful towards your team members
• Understand the importance of health and safety at work and can follow instructions

In adherence to the principle of pay transparency, we are pleased to disclose the base pay for this full-time position at Metrie. The starting rate for this role is set at $21.00 per hour. It is important to note that this position may also qualify for discretionary bonuses or commission payments. The specific base pay within the range will be contingent upon an individual's skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. Furthermore, it is essential to highlight that our remuneration ranges are established based on the role, level, and location.
