Job summary

UPS is seeking a Warehouse Associate in Concord, Ontario. This part-time, permanent role involves sorting and stocking packages and loading/unloading them from delivery vehicles. You'll work Tuesday to Saturday from 4:00am to 9:00am, for 3-5 hours per day with flexible start/finish times.

The position requires physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs and to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Must have a minimum of 25 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 70 lbs (35 kg).
• Must be available Monday to Saturday.
• Able to read and memorize postal codes.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Comfortable in truck trailers and package delivery vehicles.
• Warehouse experience is an asset.

Job Description:

The Warehouse Associate’s position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type:

Part-Time - Permanent

Work Location:

2900 Steeles Ave W, Concord On L4K3S2

Workdays:

Tuesday to Saturday-4:00am to 9:00am

Shift Duration:

3-5 hours per day *(Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times).

All Applicants must work a minimum 25 hrs/ week

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers
• Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
• Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35kg)
• Full availability to work Monday to Saturday
• Ability to read and memorize postal codes
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
• Warehouse experience (would be considered an asset)

Compensation and Benefits:

• $18.50/hr. / automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement.
• Unionized position with automatic progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate of $36.53/hr. after 48 months of service
• Tuition reimbursement up to $2,000 per semester (subject to eligibility, program approval, and satisfactory academic performance)

EXPENSES/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Monthly union dues (approximately $52/month) A union initiation fee of $50 (will be deducted after completing 90 working days with UPS)
