Giant Tiger Wholesale is hiring a permanent Warehouse Associate for our 660,000 square foot distribution centre in Johnstown, Ontario. The role offers various schedules across days, evenings and overnights with a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

You will perform a range of tasks from container unloading to robotic storage and retrieval system operations, contributing to safe, efficient production and distribution.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do:

Various positions available and may include:

Containers

• Unload containers to the specified configuration of cases per layer on the pallet as per the purchase order;
• Lift boxes with a weight range of 1-50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift
• Segregate boxes by item number;
• Interlock cases on pallets and secure with tape or shrink wrap;
• Identify and report any quantity variances and any damages to the Receiver associate;
• Various warehouse duties, as directed by the supervisor.

Cell Operations

• Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters ensuring equipment is in 'ready to run' state;
• Process and monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system, through means of the adapters, including manual inbound, automatic inbound, automatic outbound, to achieve maximum throughput and cases per hour;
• Prepare pallets for induction into the robotic storage and retrieval system;
• Assess cause of system stoppage and return to service using Human/Machine Interface (HMI) and manual intervention;
• Communicate and elevate all issues impacting production immediately to operational leadership;
• Contribute to overall system uptime through system preservation, robot recovery, suspect removal, and bot health actions;
• Perform periodic system inspections including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, component validation;
• Report all out of spec conditions and perform root cause corrective action and maintain continuous operation of system components;
• Monitor and utilize common radio etiquette while obtaining instructions from leadership and operational leads;
• Perform rover bot upkeep to include, but not limited to, replacing wheels, cleaning, ESD brushes, sensors, etc;
• Responsible for automated robotic vehicle recovery in the robotic storage and retrieval system including working in restrictive environments;
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

What You’ll Bring:

• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards;
• Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs and repetitively lifting heavy objects throughout shift;
• Comfortable in a noisy, fast-paced environment and in hot or cold weather conditions;
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and a team player;
• Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and follow directions;
• Proficiency in performing System Inspections functions including cleaning, lubrication, making adjustments;
• Ability to prioritize work to gain maximum uptime;
• Ability to work independently of supervisor, following procedures and manuals;
• Ability to multi-task and perform multiple job functions at once.

Assets You May Have:

• Experience in receiving
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Class G2 or higher driver’s license
