Job summary

Giant Tiger Wholesale is seeking a permanent Warehouse Container Associate for our Johnstown distribution center. You’ll unload containers, align cases on pallets, and maintain accurate item segregation to meet purchase orders.

This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and compliance with OSHA/WHMIS. We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.48, shift premiums where applicable, and benefits designed to support long‑term growth with the company.

Qualifications

• OSHA/WHMIS safety compliance required.
• Standing, walking, stairs, and repetitive lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment and in hot/cold weather.
• Attention to detail and teamwork.
• Professional appearance and ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Unload containers and configure cases per layer on pallets.
• Lift and move boxes (1–50 lbs) repetitively.
• Segregate boxes by item number and secure pallets.
• Identify variances and report damages to receivers.
• Perform various warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

About This Role:

Giant Tiger Wholesale is looking to hire a permanent Warehouse Container Associate for our 660,000 square foot distribution center in Johnstown, Ontario!

What You’ll Do:

• Unload containers to the specified configuration of cases per layer on the pallet as per the purchase order
• Lift boxes with a weight range of 1-50 pounds repetitively throughout the shift
• Segregate boxes by item number
• Interlock cases on pallets and secure with tape or shrink wrap
• Identify and report any quantity variances and any damages to the Receiver associate
• Various warehouse duties, as directed by the supervisor

What You’ll Bring:

• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety and complies with Ontario Safety and Health Act (OSHA), and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) standards
• Capable of standing, walking, climbing stairs and repetitively lifting heavy objects throughout shift
• Comfortable in a noisy, fast‑paced environment and in hot or cold weather conditions
• Strong attention to detail, self-motivated, and a team player
• Able to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor and follow directions

Assets You May Have:

• Experience in receiving
• Experience in a warehouse environment
• Class G2 or higher driver’s license

When You’ll Work:

Sunday - Tuesday, 2:30pm to 1:00am
