Job summary

Giant Tiger is hiring a Receiver for our Johnstown distribution centre. You will unload goods, verify items against ASNs, enter data, and assign locations. The role requires a G2 license, forklift training, and basic PC skills. You’ll work Tuesday–Saturday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school completion required.
• Class G2 or higher driver’s license.
• Forklift training program completed.
• Familiar with material handling equipment.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Experience with basic PC usage.
• Voice picking or WMOS experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Unload goods safely using a forklift.
• Verify items received against purchase orders (ASNs).
• Report quality variances and ensure correct quantity.
• Enter product info into computer systems.
• Assign active pick locations for new products.
• Apply LPNs and verify quantities vs ASN.
• Sign all transport documents and note discrepancies.
• Complete non-compliance reports for vendors.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Unloading of goods in a safe and efficient manner using a counter balance or low lift forklift
• Verify items received for accuracy against purchase orders (ASNs)
• Report quality variances and ensure accuracy in the type and quantity of received product
• Enter product information into computer systems
• Assign active pick locations for new products
• Apply License Plate Numbers (LPNs) verifying physical quantity of merchandise with quantity indicated on the ASN
• Clearly sign all transport documentation and indicate any discrepancies
• Complete non‑compliance for vendors who do not follow GTW’s shipping standards

What You’ll Bring:

• Completion of High School
• Class G2 or higher driver’s licence
• Successful completion of a forklift training program
• Familiar with material handling equipment
• Excellent communication skills

• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Experience with or a basic understanding of personal computer is required
• Voice picking or Manhattan Warehouse Management System (WMOS) experience is an asset.

As part of your onboarding, you will berequired to complete three days of paid machine training and successfully obtain in‑house certification. Successful machine certification is a mandatory condition of employment as it isan occupational requirement.
