Job summary

ALS is seeking a Warehouse Technician to support warehouse functions within the lab. The role involves sorting, locating and retrieving samples, scanning and receiving pallets, and assisting with deliveries and shipping. You will work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and a focus on safety.

Requirements include a Grade 12 diploma and forklift experience (on-site certification preferred). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work varied shifts is expected.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Basic computer skills (keyboard, mouse, internet).
  • Basic verbal English communication and ability to read English.

Responsibilities

About the Position

The Warehouse Technician (WA) will support the warehouse functions within the lab.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Sorting, locating and retrieving sample pulps and rejects from the warehouse facilities;
  • Scanning and receiving samples & pallets, consolidating samples, building pallets for storage, return, or disposal, and manual dumping tasks;
  • Conduct local deliveries and pick‑ups as needed;
  • Assist with shipping & receiving of samples for warehousing functions as needed;
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality;
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly;
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced, high volume environment;
  • Basic computer skills in using keyboard, mouse, internet, etc.;
  • Basic verbal English communication skills and ability to read English;
  • Ability to work within a team environment;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
  • Grade 12 diploma preferred;
  • Forklift license and experience operating a forklift an asset (on site certification will be required);
Physical Demands
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines
  • Frequently wearing a dust mask;
  • Comfortable in environments with high noise levels;
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for a full shift;
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks;
  • Please note that ALS operates 24/7 and will require day, afternoon, and graveyard shift work including weekends.

  • An estimated hourly pay of $21.48 CAD at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
