Job summary

Aquatic Informatics is seeking a VP of Software Engineering to lead AQI’s engineering organization and define the architectural and platform strategy that empowers product roadmaps. The role balances strategic vision with hands‑on engagement to unblock teams and accelerate delivery.

You will lead engineering, architecture, DevOps and platform teams to modernize legacy products, scale cloud and on‑prem solutions, and leverage AI to accelerate development, enabling customers to harness water data

Qualifications

15+ years of software engineering experience and 7+ years in engineering leadership.
Experience leading leaders across multi‑region teams and agile environments.
Strong depth in software architecture, cloud-native and on‑prem platforms (Azure/AWS).
Track record of accelerating delivery, improving quality and enabling business outcomes.
Mission-driven mindset toward water data, analytics and sustainability.

Responsibilities

Define and execute AQI’s architecture and platform strategy in partnership with Product Management.
Lead a distributed engineering org of ~60–80 across Canada, the U.S. and India.
Modernize legacy code and platforms for cloud, hybrid, and on‑prem deployments.
Accelerate software delivery while maintaining security, reliability and impact.
Establish engineering excellence through modern Agile, DevOps, governance and execution.
Leverage AI to accelerate development and product capabilities.
Coach and mentor engineering leaders to foster collaboration and accountability.
